With the NABU app Bird World you can get to know and identify all the bird species that regularly occur in Germany.
The NABU bird world is the free app for bird lovers and everyone else who cares about protecting our nature and its diversity.
The fully functional, free basic version of the new NABU bird app replaces the previous NABU bird app, but contains 80 additional bird species and lots of new functions.
Each species has its own identification plate.
These are the special wow factor of the app, because they consist of cropped photos that can hardly be distinguished from the best bird drawings, but show much more detail.
The panels show the typical plumage of a species; the most important characteristics are marked directly on the panels.
Distribution maps of all 315 bird species as well as a search and updated identification function are also included in the free basic version.
You can use the app to create watch lists and export them for your own use as well as for participation in the NABU campaigns Hour of the Winter Birds and Hour of the Garden Birds.
These nationwide reporting campaigns in early January and mid-May are aimed at all nature lovers.
With your participation, you will help to record trends in the species' populations and help to initiate necessary protective measures.
The basic version of the app can be expanded through subscriptions.
Thanks to the proceeds from these extensions, the app and its basic functions can be offered free of charge.
Another part of the proceeds from in-app purchases goes to NABU's work to protect nature and especially the local birdlife.

Bird songs subscription with 1000 songs, calls or the drumming of woodpeckers from all 315 bird species (for playback) for 5.99 per year
All-in-one subscription with all additional content (distribution maps for Germany, 3D/AR feature, egg pictures, bird calls, videos) including automatic voice and image recognition: Monthly subscription for 3.99 or annual subscription for 24.99.
