The priest invites the people to lift their hearts to the Lord in prayer and thanksgiving and associates it with the prayer he directs to God the Father, through Christ, in the Holy Spirit, in the name of all the community.
The meaning of this prayer is that the entire assembly unites with Christ in proclaiming the wonders of God and in the oblation of sacrifice.
The Eucharistic Prayer requires that everyone listen to it respectfully and in silence (n.78).
